About me
Hi, I'm Logan.
I'm a senior at the University of Utah studying Honors Information Systems at the Eccles School of Business, graduating in May 2027. Most of what I do comes down to building technical systems that actually work in the real world and making them easy to understand for the people who rely on them every day.
Where I'm from
I was born out in the desert near Moab and grew up in Salt Lake City. I went to Tenth East Montessori as a kid, graduated from the Academy for Math, Engineering & Science (AMES) for high school, and stuck around Salt Lake to go to the U.
What I'm working on
Right now, I wear a few different hats between campus and work. At BKP Dental, I handle all the on-site IT for a 20+ person practice. That means keeping our EagleSoft server and 40+ workstations running smoothly, troubleshooting network issues, and translating tech problems into plain English for the clinic staff. On campus, I'm a teaching assistant for Principles of Finance (helping 550+ students make sense of things like bond valuation and time value of money) and a peer advisor at the Eccles School, where I help other undergrads map out their schedules and graduate on time.
I'm also wrapping up my Honors thesis on agentic AI. I'm building an automated pipeline in Python and R that uses LLMs to clean, structure, and classify messy financial data without someone having to babysit the spreadsheets.
Outside of work
When winter hits, I spend as much time as possible up Little Cottonwood Canyon. I usually log 40+ days a season skiing at Alta and Snowbird. Once the snow melts, I'm normally bouldering at The Front, mountain biking on my Privateer 141, or getting outside with my dog, Luna. I also love traveling whenever I can get away (recent highlights include Japan, France, and Vietnam) and going to live electronic shows. I'm almost always listening to melodic or progressive house from artists like Montee, Lane 8, Tinlicker, and Slow Magic.
I care a lot about giving back to the outdoor spaces around Utah, too. I've been leading volunteer tree-planting crews with Tree Utah since 2022, and I work as the volunteer coordinator for Joe's Valley Fest, a community bouldering festival down in Castle Dale.
A few fun facts
- I was born on private land right outside Canyonlands National Park, near the Island in the Sky district.
- I've been obsessed with roller coasters since I was a kid, and I still can't fully explain why.
- I'm a huge train nerd, especially when it comes to high-speed rail. After riding the Shinkansen in Japan and the TGV in France, I'm still holding out hope that the U.S. builds a real high-speed network of its own.
